Siding and seamless gutters, measured on your house and cut to fit.
We side whole houses or just the wall that took the hail, wrap soffit and fascia so they never need paint again, and roll seamless gutters out of a machine on your driveway.
Siding options and what they cost
Siding is priced by the square too: 100 square feet of wall. A one-story ranch usually has 12 to 16 squares of wall once windows and doors come out.
| Siding | Installed price | Lasts | Good to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| Insulated vinyl | $700 to $1,000 a square | 30 years and up | Foam-backed panels stay straighter on the wall and add a little insulation. Can crack in hard, cold hail. |
| Fiber cement lap | $1,100 to $1,500 a square | 40 years and up | Looks like painted wood, does not burn and holds factory paint for years. Heavier, so labor costs more. |
| Steel lap | $900 to $1,300 a square | 40 years and up | Shrugs off hail and woodpeckers. A ladder leaned on it hard can dent it. |
| Soffit and fascia wrap | $14 to $22 a foot | 30 years and up | Vented aluminum soffit lets the attic breathe. We wrap old wood fascia so it never needs paint. |
Seamless gutters, sized for your roof
Seamless means one piece from corner to corner, so the only joints are at the corners and the downspouts. Fewer joints, fewer drips.
| Item | Installed price |
|---|---|
| 5-inch gutter | $9 to $13 a foot |
| 6-inch gutter | $11 to $16 a foot |
| 2 x 3 inch downspout | $8 to $11 a foot |
| 3 x 4 inch downspout | $10 to $14 a foot |
| Guards fitted to our gutters | $8 to $14 a foot |
Which size? Most houses here are fine with 5-inch. We put up 6-inch with 3 x 4 downspouts when the roof is steeper than 8/12, when one big slope drains into a single run, or when a run is longer than 40 feet. A 6-inch gutter carries about 40 percent more water.
Open gutters fill up. Fitted guards keep them flowing.
Moss and shingle grit hold water against the fascia and feed ice dams in January. Guards that clip to the gutter lip stay put through snow slides.
