Northline is two roof crews and one siding crew, all on our own payroll, working out of a shop in La Crosse. We roof houses within about 20 miles of town and we answer our own phone.
How we work
Northline started when Tom Ostrander left commercial sheet-metal work and began roofing houses on the North Side. The flashing habits came with him: bent on site, sealed properly, never smeared with caulk and left to fail.
We are not the cheapest bid in town and we do not try to be. We are the bid that shows you every line, sticks to it, and comes back if something we built leaks.
- Our own crews on every job. We do not sub out installs.
- One crew lead per house, with a cell number you can call.
- Insured for general liability and workers' compensation. Certificates sent before we start.
- Fixed written prices, good for 30 days.
- A photo report of every job: before, during and after.
- Magnet sweep of the yard and drive before we leave.
The warranty, in plain words
You get this as a signed letter with your final invoice. Here is what it says.

| Workmanship, 10 years | If anything we installed leaks or fails because of how we installed it (flashing, nailing, sealing, vents), we fix it free for 10 years from the job date. |
| Materials | The manufacturer's material warranty, registered in your name. We send in the paperwork and mail you the certificate. |
| If you sell | The workmanship warranty transfers once to the next owner at no charge. Send us a note within 60 days of the sale. |
| Not covered | Hail, wind and storm damage (that is what your insurance is for), damage from other trades working on the roof, and ice dams caused by attic insulation we were not hired to fix. |
| How to use it | Call or email. We come look within 3 business days, and the same day if water is coming in. |
